Top free online courses you can’t afford to miss

As COVID-19 continues to disrupt our normal life, the market leaders and other top portals, in a bid to educate the masses, have launched several free online courses.

We bring you the top portals and their free online courses for lockdown. The courses are apt for students, mainly those who are looking forward to joining the workforce and also the professionals.

NASSCOM’s free online courses will strengthen your foundation: The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) has launched the foundation Artificial Intelligence Program for free. The course covers six different tech-concepts such as introduction to AI, SQL and relational databases, Python for Data Science, Algorithms, Statistics and Data Visualization with Python. The usual cost of this course is INR 6,800, however, it can be pursued for free online till May 15th on its skill-set based website.

Harvard University offers 67 free courses: The US-based premier institute has made as many as 67 courses available for free.  The duration of the courses is in the range of 1-12 weeks and can be pursued from their portal . The offerings include domains such as Data Science, Art & Design, Health & Medicine, Computer Science, Programming, Education & Teaching among the others.

AICTE‘s free online courses: The All India Council for Technical Education has launched a portal Enhancement in Learning with Improvement in Skills (ELIS). The ELIS has tied-up with as many as 18 different leading Edtech companies and is offering 26 different free online courses until May 15, 2020. 

Google’s free online courses are worth pursuing: The search engine giant is offering several free online courses to boost business or career. Google’s free courses are in the range of 2 – 20 hour with the options of free and paid certifications. The courses are available on Google Digital Unlocked platform 

NPTEL is offering free online courses for engineering students:  The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) has launched courses to help students gain the knowledge and skills, to use their time effectively during the lockdown. In its tweet, the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) urged students to pursue these courses. NPTEL’s free online courses also mandate a weekly assignment which should be submitted within the stipulated time. The institute is also offering several free refresher courses for the faculty.
